Meet iCamPRO FHD, the best and first home security robot for tracking intruder

iCamPRO FHD: home security robot for tracking intruder

During the 2015 Consumer Electronic Show held in Las Vegas, Dutch-based security robot company Amaryllo International received an award for its iCamPRO FHD. This device is a domestic robotic camera for searching and tracking movements in real-time, even in darkness.

While tracking robots and devices have been available in the market, Amaryllo is the first company to design and develop a product geared toward residential consumers. Note that real-time object tracking is an expensive technology seen only in military and professional surveillance systems.

The iCamPRO FHD is an affordable and effective home security solution nonetheless. No doubt it won the 2015 CES Best Innovation for being the best and first domestic robot for tracking intruders.

What sets the iCamPRO FHD apart from other products in the home security market is it can see, hear, sense, and track moving objects while also communicating with its users through a paired device such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet PC.

A high-speed CPU with a patent-pending multi-sensor network including motion and audio sensors and 256-bit encryption powers the robotic camera. It is a feature-rich home security device with mechanised infrared-cut filter for automatically changing lens to adjust for varying light conditions, free cloud support via Google Drive, and real-time push picture alerts sent to a paired computer or smartphone device.

“Our algorithms teach the camera to always keep the object in the middle of the viewing area,” said the company in a statement. “When an object begins to move away from the pixels in the middle of the viewing area, the camera will track the object until it’s in the middle again.

“The algorithm is designed to follow the first object detected until it stops moving. Basically, the iCamPRO is using the lens and PIR motion sensors to constantly hunt for any moving object.”

There are 3 PIR motion sensors placed strategically around the device. This design ensures no blind spots for intruders to hide, thereby removing the need to buy and set up a multiple-camera security system.

Standing just over 3” tall and with an accompanying adjustable mount, iCamPRO FHD can easily be mounted on a flat surface, wall, or ceiling. Mounting the device on the ceiling enables the 180° rotation feature.

Other features include remote PT control via smartphone or tablet PC, 360° auto tracking and 360° viewing, full HD video streaming, 32 GB recording support, advanced video format, and ultralow power consumption.

Amaryllo International expects the product to be available by end of May 2015. The product retails at $299.9. Photo credit: Amaryllo International
